Technology Mission Statement
Cathedral Preparatory School is committed to providing technology as a tool to assist students to become self directed and collaborative learners and to be able to ask questions, seek answers, and use the information found. Likewise Cathedral Prep is committed to providing technology as a tool to assist faculty in providing a higher quality, more diverse learning environment.
Technology Vision
- Students are self directed and collaborative learners understanding basic computer operations and utilizing multimedia and telecommunication technologies effectively.
- All students will have equal access to all technologies and utilize those technologies.
- All students are provided technology supported learning solutions resulting in higher learning expectations and involvement.
- Students have live interaction with content matter specialists and field experts in cultural topics, science and math disciplines, and languages.
- Students have live interactive adventures around the world without leaving the classroom.
- Technology will be used primarily to support the faculty's curriculum in the classroom and will be integrated in such a way that the technology itself is a vehicle to support and enhance learning efforts rather than an end in itself.
- Faculty and staff are comfortable with the technology and its uses in the classroom.
The Computer Department is in full support of the philosophy of Cathedral Preparatory School in the development of the whole man in spirit, body, and mind. As we advance further in the information age, it is the responsibility of this department to enable the student to use the technology as it is used in the adult world of business, science and education with integrity and with Catholic tradition ethics. It is also to provide the students with a perspective, awareness, as well as the skills that prepare them to enter tomorrow's changing world of employment and life-long learning.
