Student Responsibilities
Students are responsible for taking care of their Laptop. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Backing up school files every week
- Running Clean Disk every three weeks
- Running Scan Disk every month
- Defragmenting of the Hard Drive every three weeks
- Not eating or drinking around the laptop
- Not "Rough-housing" around laptops
Guidelines for proper care of the Tablet computer
- The Tablet is not to be loaned to anyone.
- The Tablet is strictly for the use of the student to whom it is issued.
- The Tablet is strictly for use in the completion of academic assignments from Cathedral Prep faculty.
- No software is to be loaded onto the Tablet other than software expressly approved by the Technology Department.
- Proper care is to be given to the Tablet at all times, including, but not limited to the following:
- Do not eat or drink while using the computer
- Do not leave the computer exposed to direct sunlight
- Do not drop the computer or allow it to fall
- Unplug the computer during electrical storms
- Give care appropriate for any electrical device
- Perform regular preventative virus scans on all data installed on the computer
- Do not attempt to repair a damaged or malfunctioning computer
- Do not attempt to upgrade the computer or software
- Do not allow children to play on the computer.
- The laptop should be stored in its case when not in use
- Proper security is to be provided for the computer at all times, including but not limited to the following:
- Do not leave the computer unattended
- Do not leave the laptop in any unlocked home, office, classroom, etc.
- Do not leave the A/C adapter behind when moving the computer
- Do not let others borrow the computer.
Failure to abide by these guidelines may void any warranty and/or insurance coverage.
