Cathedral Preparatory School

International Scholars Program

About the International Program

Cathedral Preparatory School, an all-male secondary school founded in 1921, has been a home away from home for many international students from all over the globe for many years. Being an international student at Cathedral Prep means more than just receiving a college preparatory education in the United States. Our students are not only integrated into our curriculum, but we want them to experience everything that our country has to offer, including what family life is like. That is why our International Program boards students through host families who have been carefully screened and selected and will welcome our international students into their homes and lives. We feel that our program gives a much better experience and creates a more well-rounded international student. Our Director of Admissions works closely with the international students and host families to ensure a wonderful year abroad. Cathedral Prep's International Scholars Program offers a wide array of activities and services. Services include free lunches in the school cafeteria, a tablet PC, recreational opportunities including sports and clubs, library access, and educational trips to major cities, including New York City and Washington, DC.

Cathedral Preparatory School is registered with SEVIS, the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System, and is authorized to issue I-20’s to international students through the Erie Catholic Diocese so that they may acquire the proper Visa.
