Our Call to Action
Through a comprehensive needs assessment process, actions have been identified as fundamental to the viability and Our Call to Action sustainability to the mission of Cathedral Prep. If addressed, these initiatives would place Cathedral Prep in the enviable position of enhancing an already strong reputation by growing the endowment, updating and renovating current facilities, building a multipurpose athletic facility, and sustaining the enrollment.
Confident in its tradition, Cathedral Prep calls upon each of us to provide the resources necessary to ensure that the school not only remains vibrant for years, but more importantly, continues to transform the lives of the young men of our generation and generations to come.
- Secure $2 million for endowment in order to provide enhanced tuition assistance to families of demonstrated financial need and merit. Combined with our current endowment and o her financial resources, this commitment would enable Cathedral Prep to offer well over $600, 00 in tuition assistance every year and keep pace with future increases in tuition.
- Secure $1 million for a complete renovation of our science wing to address a building that is over forty years old. The classroom and laboratory upgrades will create a state-of-the-art science facility that will be second to none. These improvements will ensure that our students have the very best in facilities and instruction that will enhance their Prep experience, and give them the foundation they need to compete at the collegiate level and beyond.
- Secure $1.8 million to transform the auditorium into a space that will become a place to assemble in a theatertype atmosphere. The Musical, Visual, and Performing Arts (MVP) program has enjoyed dramatic growth at Cathedral Prep, and renovating the auditorium will enable the school to aggressively continue to strive to become a premier school in the area of performing arts.
- Secure $9 million to build the Cathedral Prep Events Center in order to ensure that students at all grade levels have equal opportunities and access to athletic, wellness, and intramural facilities as a core to the mission of Cathedral Prep. The first phase of this project will include an eight-lane all-weather track, a synthetic playing surface, and a 12,000-square-foot building that will house locker rooms, concessions, and restroom facilities. This complex will become Cathedral Prep’s first true sports facility and a showcase facility for the Erie area. Our student athletes will enjoy incomparable facilities, providing them with a platform to hone their skills and perform at their highest level, thus maximizing their gifts from God.
- Secure $4.5 million in Annual Fund support cumulatively during the next five years in order to support faculty and staff professional development, student enrichment activities, cocurricular programs, while keeping the cost of tuition at an affordable level for all area families. A vibrant Annual Fund is critical to the health and well-being of Cathedral Prep and is a strong indication that all of us are committed to taking ownership of the present and future of this magnificent school.
As the priests, religious, lay faculty members, and our families did for us, so each of us is asked to do for others—to guarantee that a Cathedral Prep education remains competitive, contemporary, and affordable. Let us ensure that Cathedral Prep will continue to transform lives for generations to come.
