WHISPERING WOODS TO HOST 21ST ANNUAL RAMBLER GOLF CLASSIC
The Rambler Golf Classic returns for the 21st consecutive year on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the challenging Whispering Woods Golf Club. The annual golf tournament continues to be one of the more popular events on the Cathedral Prep calendar as classmates, parents, and friends gather for a great day of competition and camaraderie.
The Rambler Classic begins with registration and a buffet lunch at 11:00 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Refreshments are available on the course throughout the day followed by a steak dinner and the awarding of individual and team prizes. The format is a four-person scramble and awards are given to the top teams based on a foursome handicap, as well as various skill and hole-in-one contests that take place throughout the round.
This year two Rambler Classic veterans will be honored for their loyalty and consistent support of the golf tournament. Chuck Dahlkemper and Dick Quadri, both members of the Cathedral Prep “Crew of ‘52”, will be recognized during dinner.
The event is open to all friends and supporters of Cathedral Prep on a first-come, first served basis, and is limited to the first 128 golfers who register. If you did not receive a registration form in the mail, you may pick one up in the Advancement Office at Prep or call Nancy Bird at 453-7737 ext. 2293 or Jim Sertz at 453-7737 ext. 2294 for more information, or to register by phone. The entry fee is $150 per golfer or $600 per team. Sponsorships are available and appreciated, and entitle you to a foursome if you choose. Whether you register as a sponsor, a four-man team, or an individual, do not wait as the event has a history of filling up quickly.
