2010 Rambler Golf Classic

"Crew of ’52” Honored at 21st Rambler Golf Classic

1952 Classmates Chuck Dahlkemper and Dick Quadri at the 2010 Rambler Golf Classic

This year’s Rambler Golf Classic was held on June 24 at Whispering Woods, and it proved to be a memorable one. Two members of the “Crew of 52” were honored. Both Chuck Dahlkemper and Dick Quadri have played in the tournament since its inception! Most golfers could easily identify the two on the course with their outlandish decorated golf cart and attire.

The weather in the morning may not have been up to par, but the camaraderie amongst Ramblers and friends certainly was. Twenty seven foursomes gathered on a dreary, rainy morning at to come together to support the mission of Cathedral Prep. By the start of the tournament, the sun was in full force.

Much of the success of the Rambler Golf Classic is due to the generosity of the 24 sponsors. Special thanks to our platinum sponsors: Champion Bolt, Inc. and Hamot Medical Center.

Golfers enjoyed lunch before heading off to the shotgun start. Following dinner, golfers were treated to a fantastic steak dinner. Many golfers received prizes for their talents and skills. No golfer walked away empty handed. Every golfer who participated in the event received a Cathedral Prep cooler, a golf ball with tees, and a framed photo of their foursome.

The low net team champion was Jerry Wegley, Dan Kress, James Loeslein ’90 and Mike Edwards.

The low gross team champion was Sean Carroll ’84, Garrett Divins ’01, Jake Merski ’95 and Pat Callaghan.

It really doesn’t matter how you slice it. The bottom line is that many Ramblers had a hole lot of fun and enjoyed the opportunity to spend the day with friends of Prep while raising money for the school.
