Cathedral Prep head football coach Mike Mischler returned to a school that he coached for seven years from 1998-2004, guiding the Orange and Black to a 61-25 record. In his return in 2009, Prep won the District 10 and Region championship while going 11-3 overall and advancing to the PIAA quarterfinals. His career highlights: six Metro titles, six District 10 championships, three trips to the Western Finals, two appearances in the state championship which included a state title victory in 2000, the school's first in the sport. For three seasons he coached the Iroquois Braves to a 16-15 record which included three consecutive appearances in the postseason.

In his 11 seasons of coaching Mischler has been able to place more than 80 of his players in college football programs. His 72 victories at Prep trail only the late Mina George’s 131 in the history of the program.
