SCHOOL REACH MESSAGE Broadcast on Sunday, March 07, 2010
Hello. This is Fr. Scott Jabo, President of Villa Maria Academy and Cathedral Preparatory School calling all Prep students, faculty and staff with an exciting opportunity for Prep to support the varsity basketball team at this Tuesday’s playoff game against Upper St. Clair. A very generous Prep alumnus has come forward offering to sponsor a bus to the game because he wants to make sure that our fans are there to support the Ramblers as they play Upper St. Clair in Pittsburgh on Upper St. Clair’s home court. Here is the great part of this offer: The cost for the students is only one dollar per student and includes both the bus ride and the cost of the ticket. The bus will leave Cathedral Prep at 3:45 PM on Tuesday, March 9th. The game begins at 7:00 PM. The bus will then return to Prep that evening most likely around 11:30 PM. Since school is not in session tomorrow, that is, Monday, it is important that we get this trip organized as quickly as possible. Please note that I have already sent an email to everyone with these same details, so please check your email. If you plan to go, then please reply to that email according to the instructions. You must then bring your dollar to Mr. Dougherty’s office on Tuesday morning. Since space is limited, this offer will be on a first come, first served basis. Since chaperones are also needed, interested faculty and staff members are encouraged to reply as well. Let’s show Upper St. Clair that we truly are the best fans in the state by showing our support for our Cathedral Prep Ramblers at Tuesday night’s playoff game. Thank you and God bless.

Scott Jabo, President of Villa Maria Academy and Cathedral Preparatory School calling all Parents of Freshman at Cathedral Prep with a reminder that this Friday, February 19th is the Legacy Gala gift gathering party, “Vino, Brew and You!”, at the home of Bill and Irma Lynch, 5125 South Jarrod Court. Please stop by between 7pm and 10pm to enjoy some appetizers and socialize with other Prep Freshman parents. Dress is casual. Hello. This is Fr. Scott Jabo, President of Villa Maria Academy and Cathedral Preparatory School, calling all Prep and Villa families with a reminder that all financial aid applications for the 2010-2011 school year are due on Monday, March 1, 2010, which is only two weeks from today. Please note that the applications for both the Diocese of Erie and the Prep and Villa financial aid programs are due by the March 1st deadline. Both applications are available at either Prep or Villa or you can download them from either the Prep or Villa websites. Also note that the Diocese of Erie application must be mailed directly to the address indicated on the application and not dropped off at the school. It is very important that these forms are filled out completely and include your 2009 Pennsylvania income tax return. Missing the deadline and/or submitting incomplete applications will likely result in your application not being processed, thus preventing you being considered for financial aid. With the large amount of financial aid applications expected, but with only a limited amount of financial aid available, it is important that these completed applications be submitted on time. Hello. This is Fr. Scott Jabo, President of Villa Maria Academy and Cathedral Preparatory School, calling all Prep and Villa parents, families, faculty and staff with an update on our phone system. As I noted previously, Cathedral Prep now has four-digit extensions for all of its telephones. All extensions at Cathedral Prep now begin with a “2” followed by a three digit number, which in most cases is the same three-digit extension as before. Beginning tomorrow, that is, Wednesday, February 10th, Villa will also adopt four-digit phone extensions. However, phone extensions at Villa will begin with a “3” followed by a three digit number, which in most cases will be the same three-digit extension as before. Thus, if someone at Villa previously had extension 230, that extension will now be 3230. Phone extensions will soon be updated on both the Prep and Villa websites in the very near future.
Because of the new phone system, it is very likely that voicemail at Villa has not yet been set up in most of the offices. This will be set up within the next few days. Until then, you will not be able to leave any voicemails.
Lastly, please note that for the most part, faculty members will not have separate voicemail extensions. Therefore if you need to reach a faculty member, please do so by email or contact the Main Office if necessary.

Hello. This is Fr. Scott Jabo, President of Villa Maria Academy and Cathedral Preparatory School, calling all Prep and Villa students and families, faculty and staff to invite you Wing Night at Buffalo Wild Wings to be held tomorrow night. The event is sponsored by Cathedral Prep’s Student Government to raise money for Prep student Zac Czerwinski and his family as Zac continues his fight against cancer. Wing Night will run from 5:00 PM until closing tomorrow night, that’s Thursday, February 4th, at Buffalo Wild Wings located near the Millcreek Mall.
Note that 15% of your check’s cost that evening will be going to Zac Czerwinski and his family. So I encourage all of you to please come out and support this worthy cause.
